Trailer size for our new puchase

First time user, here. We will be driving a couple hundred miles to pick up our new B2301 with FEL and BH70, plus a 48" rotary mower and 60" box blade. We're trying to figure out the minimum size trailer we will need to haul all that at once. I've looked but can't find overall lengths for the tractor+FEL+BH. Also, could we raise the buckets and slide the implements under them for more compact loading?

I would suggest a 16’ trailer at the very least. An 18’ would be better.

With the BH attached, then you may be able to get the bush hog under it but do think your going to need at least a 18 to 20 footer. The same tractor package with a BH

Another thing that will be critical when towing, is it needs to have more weight on the tongue of the trailer then the tail. If weight is not forward enough, then trailer can fish tail

I would want at least a 20' tandem for all that. I'd probably stick the mower under the FEL, and the box under the BH, but certainly assess the situation carefully before loading. And lots of binders & straps!

I have the same model only its 2017. You'll love this tractor and the things you can accomplish! Mine was delivered to me so not much trailer advice to offer.

I'd highly recommend an 18 foot trailer. 16 foot would probably work but you'll defiantly be hanging off the the back with your mowers. 18 foot is what I found to be the cheapest around since it's such a common car hauler length.

Yeah it's 16ft + 2ft dove.

PA452- I can just fit my B2650 TLB on my 16 ft landscape trailer. You have to turn the hoe nearly sideways. I also put some 2x12 cribbing on the trailer deck where the rear wheels of the tractor sit when loaded. This gives me enough height for the backhoe bucket to clear the 2 foot sides on my trailer when I turn the hoe sideways. It's a tight fit, but still works. An 18 foot trailer would work better for sure in order to adjust the tongue weight with the B2650 TLB.

I would go with a 18’ foot trailer. Just because you could fit everything on something smaller does not mean the unit as a whole will be balanced properly. You would be surprised how moving weight on a trailer just one foot forward or back can either make it tow properly or make it a nightmare.

Another thing I didn't mention. I put a weight distribution hitch on my trailer and it greatly helped my 1500 silverado. Getting enough tongue weight without smashing the rear end to the stops was tough. With the distribution system on I don't really have an issue. It was about ~$300 from etrailer.com

If you have enough truck I'd suggest a 20' with dove tail. I had a 16' before and not only more room on the 20' but it pulls so much better.

Was the 16' overloaded or just didn't provide enough space to properly balance the load?

I consider my 16' to be really nice and smooth. I'm giving a little consideration to upgrading to an 18', purely because I'm thinking about upgrading my tractor.

Still not sold on the dovetail. Definitely would make it easier to load tractors, especially with mower decks. But I'm afraid I'll be dragging that dovetail on the ground in places.

Without a dove tail you need longer ramps, not just because the height is higher, but to decrease the edge. Either that or get a tilt

I don't have a dovetail on my 16' trailer. The BX23 can crest the top of the ramp without issue with no mower. Work a mower, I just need to backup up to a slight hill or in a couple of cases I've blocked up the loading gate.
