Slide in ramps are not as nice to use, but the advantage with them is you can let an implement attached to the tractor hang out over the end if need be. $3700 with the Equalizer hitch sounds like a good deal.
Well, it WAS a good deal. He sold it. You snooze, you lose!

Without getting into too much detail I will ad check with a local trailer builder. There are plenty of places local to me(Mobile Al) that sell trailers(brands known all over the country) but also a local trailer manufacturer that sells direct. Better cost because there is no middle man.
Price out different lengths and axle capacities, for example a 24’ 14k lb was only $200 more than a 20’ 10k lb trailer.
So I went with a 24’ 14k lb(although I have a MX5100)
Started with a F150 but since went to a F250 due to towing. It worked out buying the bigger trailer first. And have since used it to haul Skidsteers, mini x, trucks, pretty much anything.

Another thing I don’t think has been mentioned is resale. Around me I rarely see 10k lb trailer due to people towing Skidsteers. Most would be overweight and the cost to go to 14k isn’t much. It’s either tandem axle 7k or 14k equipment trailer then move up to a gooseneck. Might not ever plan to sell but just something to think about if plans change for the future.

Here is a B2601 on a 18' steel trailer, with a box blade... Room left over, zero. Room for adjustment, zero. But you're suggesting to hang the loader over the front so it can potentially smack into the tailgate, that'll buy some space... Towing on the highway sucked (for me), but that's just me! You do you, just sharing my deal 🍻

There is no particular need to have the loader bucket flat on the deck.
Curling the bucket, with the edge down, would provide more usable deck length.

Anyone who has ever had a gooseneck knows how truly delightful they are.
Another gooseneck advantage....... your friends will not ask to borrow your trailer.

its not flat on the deck but fully dumping it wouldnt buy enough space to do anything useful as it still couldnt fit a rake, grapple, or brush hog ect. Trailer was way too short and heavy for a F150. F150 is great for picking up kids and groceries, it's all the moms drive around here ;)

I’m also not a fan of going down the road with that much of my cylinders exposed and in such a vulnerable position, but that’s likely just my OCD coming to the surface.
Get a long enough trailer.

Cylinders "exposed and in such a vulnerable position" ?
Vulnerable to what?

true, they just ask to borrow BOTH your truck and trailer or ask 'can you do me a small favour......'. ;)

If loader is SSQA, you might be able remove bucket, place into pickup box to gain some trailer deck space to find the 'sweet spot' for the tractor

Wth my L48 TLB on 20' trailer, I put the edge of the bucket down , and the hoe sticks out a foot or so between my fold up ramps.
Works great.
I would not tow with an F150, though my son has one supposedly rated for 11,000 lb. towing.

I learned long ago to NEVER loan my truck and/or trailer!
I will do them a "small favour"........ at my convenience.

Oh I don’t know, rocks or other small debris coming off the road—wait, that never happens. Seems like an unforced error, like say, not crossing your safety chains 🤣. Why take the chance? Just get the right trailer.

Of course, getting the proper trailer is the obvious answer.
Cylinder damage is best prevented by not using the loader at all! :ROFLMAO:
