Well, it looks like it is going to get cold here also. Already checked with dad to make sure that we don't have anything pressing. Only thing that could get us outside is if we have trees come down.

By noon, with the sun, it could be all the way up to -25F or so.😂
Except...... the sun dont rise for a few weeks in some places!!!!
When the door handle of the airplane broke off at -40 something, I decided it best not to fly one day.... don't often see thermometers measure below -40, even up here.
We have a lot of people switching to propane heat, but propane does not flow below -42 or 43, which is often enough that folks have to install a tank heater like a battery blanket on the tank, just to warm it that little bit so it'll keep going when you most need it!

Saw this yesterday. Case IH is sending a bunch of Quad Tracks to Antarctica. Over a million dollars each they say.
Notice they don't have SCR or DPF's.:LOL::LOL:

Well from an Old Snowmachine rider all I can say is "Bad things happen to good equipment when it gets that cold"..... Been there, done that!

During WWII, my dad got drafted (Canadian Army) like a lot of other people. When they found out he drove heavy equipment, he got assigned to the far north (north of Edmonton somewhere) working on a research project on making equipment work in the severe cold. He had some interesting stories about the effects of cold on the equipment. Breaking things that just should not break, and the like.

Fun stuff.
