i bought some attachments from a friend but he made me take the tractor because it only would move really slow. he didn't think it was the clutch he replaced the trany fluid and filters it didn't help. i took it to a dealer and they said it was the clutch. i had them put it in a new one and they did some other work new battery, Key switch and some wiring when i got the bill it was $2500 and it still didn't move any better. they said they didn't went to spend my money putting in presser valves they didn't know which one may be the bad one. it is a B6200 4x4 hydrostatic transmission. Any one have a solution on this?

I'm a little prickly over the shop diagnostic of a faulty clutch and a new clutch did nay fix the issue.

They should be eating at least half of the clutch bill if not all.

Their miss diagnoses, their financial responsibility.

If it is so old, maybe the brakes/parking brake is hung up. I’d lift it and see if each wheel will move when it is in N. Do block the wheels that you aren’t checking. Also, does it make a difference if it is in L, M, H if it has those.

Is there a tachometer? Does the engine turn at the expected RPMs or is it lugging? if you get moving and increase the throttle does the engine respond? Does the tractor move even slightly faster at higher throttle settings? If the engine is turning but not getting the power to the wheels then something in the drive train is slipping. If it is lugging then there is a serious bind.

Since the dealer 'guessed' that it needed a clutch then I suspect the former. I guess the next thing would be to determine if the drive shaft is turning properly. If it is then your problem would be in the differential or axles. If not, then the clutch or gearbox. I would not rule out the clutch just because the dealer replaced it, but a severely slipping clutch would heat up pretty quickly and you should be able to smell it.

OK, I'm cornfused..clutch,tranny AND hydro unit ??
Is it really engine-->clutch-->tranny-->hydro 'rearend' ??
a picture would really help.
If so, is there a real driveshaft between tranny and hydro unit ?
If yes, check speed of driveshafwith a handheld tach.
Maybe check the PTO speed as well.
Hav eto agree dealer needs to pay for THEIR error ! Also you did get BACK your old clutch parts, right ??

How did you pay for the repair. Hopefully with a credit card.

If so, I would dispute the transaction with the credit card company. Whitetiger's guidance is valid. You take a piece of equipment for repair, they charge you for the repair that they say your need, and the repair they made makes no difference?

Rather than finding the solution to the problem, I would first find the way to get my money back.

If you paid with something other than a credit card, maybe small claims court might help you.

My priority would be getting the money I paid back, for a repair that did not fix the issue, and then worry about fixing the tractor if possible.

You can check the clutch by putting the PTO in gear and engaging the clutch. If the PTO turns at normal speed, your problem is not the clutch - the clutch drives the hydro and the PTO.

The first check the dealer should have made was to remove the cover over the hydro filter, put the gearbox in High range, lock the brake pedals down tight and depress the hydro pedal. You can set in the seat and watch the propeller shaft at the front of the hydro to see if it slows or stops under load.

If the shaft does not slow, they should have connected two pressure gauges to the hydro test ports and repeated the test. If the pressures for the Forward and or Reverse pressure is low, it could be a pressure valve. If one is within spec and the other is low, they can be swapped and retested. If the problem follows the valve, it is at fault. If the low reading does not follow the valve, it is in the hydro.

Try putting it in two wheel drive. For some reason the front propeller shaft coupler is screaming at me. Im used to working on things that will not drive properly if all of the 4/awd parts arent connected. Kubotas have a propeller shaft that has couplers that can fall off inside the rear gear housing. When you split the tractor this shaft can easily be pulled out too far and the joining coupler fall off inside. Seems plausable to me that the coupler came apart, and the tech didnt know. If it did the gearing is the same as the front wheels having no traction and taking up all the rpms. If this is the case the rear half of the machine must be split.

disreguard”
I see this is a b series. Its much like my b6100hst. I would clean the banjo screens, and replace the hydraulic hose junctions if they are leaking they can introduce air.
