I saw in the Black Friday flyer that TSC has the Dewalt 20v cordless grease on on sale tomorrow only for $170. , I think I paid $225. for mine. So that's a great deal. If you work alone like I do it is a great tool to have.

For that kind of money, I'll stick with my trusty ol' Lincoln pump gun with a latch-on coupler.

I can buy a LOT of grease for $170.

I just don't see how a homeowner can justify one of those things. Every time I'd go to use it, it'd be dead. I have enough problems with my battery drills. About 2 years is all I get out of my batteries on my drills, thought about selling them all but one. The Craftsman 19.2 drill works great but batteries just don't last very long. I'll stay with my pump gun too.

I have both and both have their uses. A battery one is nice to grease multiple fittings on an implement in the field (I don't bring my stuff home every time I use them, I keep my implements in my landowners barn so when it grease time the battery gun works well.

At the shop I use a bulk 150 pound open headed drum air greaser and I fill my hand guns from it. All my hand guns have clear barrels on them so I can see how much ot little grease is in them.

Tractors don't have a ton of fittings, Implements do. My round baler has about 20 and my disc mower has at least that many, maybe more. I know my 575 High capacity square baler has 18 on just the knotters alone and the require grease after every use.

I do a lot of greasing.

Sidecarflip,

That's a lot of greasing. Have you thought of greasing your grease gun? How many a year do you go through?

:)

I picked up a discontinued model pneumatic grease gun at Tractor Supply about a month ago, $20. Couldn’t pass up that price, I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise. My bat wing mower has 53 grease fittings.

I don't buy anything at TSC. Bunch of overpriced Chinese garbage, well for the most part.

All it takes is to use a manual grease gun-espeicially a pistol grip, ONCE on a TLB or excavator. After about a dozen fittings, you'll wish you had something else whether it be a pneumatic or cordless.

And conversely, once you've used a pneumatic or cordless on something that has more than 4 fittings, you'll wonder how you got along without it. Only word of suggestion I have with the cordless or pneumatic...keep plenty of grease on hand. Never fails...4 fittings (out of 34) left and you run out.
