Great idea Lil Foot.Thanks for posing this question, it got me to thinking about the situation.
Grabbed an extra extinguisher from the garage, and lo & behold, the mounting holes in the extinguisher bracket lined up with the holes in the bracket on the back of the seat. It's out of the way, doesn't interfere with the backhoe operation, and easily accessible with the seat facing front or rear.
One suggestion. I would swap out the plastic bracket with an all metal version. I can't imagine the the plastic strap will take much vibration or bouncing around before popping open and dropping the extinguisher. Especially where it is side mounted. That puts much more pressure on the bracket.
Maybe something like these...
