Tractor Identification - Look alike to a 1979 Kubota m5500dt

Hello all, I'm driving 3.5 hours to take a look at this tractor on Saturday, but prior to going I'd like to see if I can identify the model.

Unfortunately all the letters are all worn off.

I'm reaching out to the seller to see if they are willing to find the Serial number/model number for me, but in the meantime, anyone want to guess what model number this might be?

It looks similar, but not identical to a 1979 Kubota m5500dt also for sale near me.

According to the seller, it is NOT a Kubota, but he isn't sure what it is. Do you think this might possibly be a grey market tractor?

That's going to be a tough unit to find parts for!

There’s some informative posts over at yesterdaystractors about them. They were considered powerful ag-tractors in England and in Canada…but the hydraulics used the transmission oil and could reduce the amount of oil available for gear lubrication resulting in excessive gear wear.
Finding parts will be a fun quest.

I would suggest...... driving 3-1/2 hours in the opposite direction!
1st item to break, (no parts available) will leave you with an ugly piece of lawn art.

For free,.... I might take it, but even then,....probably not,..... just because of the 3-1/2 hour drive.

Tough old tractors. At one time here in the Central valley of California there was a lot of these machines. The most popular in this area where the mudders used in row crops. I actually went to SAME service school in 1985. They used an air code diesel similar to the Deutz engine. Don't see many around anymore.

Thanks for the info guys. For the record, I won't be going to take a look at it. I thought based on the color scheme that the owner had misidentified a Kubota, and I was thrilled at the potential of a 4x4 Kubota for less than 5k. The major issue for me, as you all mentioned, is the lack of availability of parts. I owned a L245DT for 2 years, and put about 350 hours on it from 2021-2023. I used the dealership twice, once when I initially purchased it, and once about 18 months in when the axle housing cracked. Both times I was able to buy parts on Ebay from people who have taken apart a similar tractor and listed it by Kubota's part number.

I've since upgraded to a Bobcat 843, but I'm keeping my eye peeled for any good deals in the Kubota market.
