i found a open box special at crutchfield. less than $70. for a am/fm usb mp3 song player, with i-pod input.. i ordered a marine under dash stereo installation box… i will pick up a short rubber incased antenna, to mount onto the roof. so in a few days the tractor will have a radio mounted under my tractor roof/cover. and i will have tunes available for me to listen to while i'm out working… i already have a set of weather resistant speaker boxes i'll attach to the rops near the roof….

Many years ago while farming with a friend we had a John Deere 4430 with cab it had air radio and heater . The AM FM made for a pleasurable day out in the field.

Nice! Back when I still rode my motorcycle I had a set of foam earplug headphones for use on longer trips. Way too much wind noise for speakers any sort of over ear headphone if I want to keep my hearing (actually too much noise just from the wind). I've never been able to get those stupid gel earbuds to stay in my ears so I found those things. Sound quality isn't stellar but it's fine for general listening and lets me keep my hearing. You probably don't have that problem with your fancy sealed cab and all :) Never thought to use them on the tractor oddly enough.

my l3200 has no cab. just a sun cover… the engine runs quiet, so i wouldn't have any need for the radio to be loud….
now if you want noisy, my '83' ford ranger, with the mazda built perkins in it, is a loud engine…. even with all of the extra sound padding ford installed. it's a very noisy engine…

Oh whoops. Wow it's that quiet? I've only had my Kubota idling for a minute or two, it's been apart ever since, but every other tractor I've ever used roared like a freight train with the exception of the 8n. Heh you had to take the muffler off the old Ford 4500 fit it in the barn, stepping on that throttle would rattle your brain in yer skull!

So everything speaker and all is in a little water proof box up on the rops? That's not a bad setup I'll have to remember that.

nope, the radio is in the box. i'm using a set of old bose roommates, mounted at the top of each side of the rops. the box is to be mounted on the right side, as i can't use that side to climb aboard without fighting the hydraulic controls anyway. as soon as i get things mounted. i'll post a photo...
