Tractor acts strange when backing up a grade

I'm a new member hoping for some advice. My B3200HST has 55 hrs on it. It's a great machine and I love it. But, the other day I was slowly backing up a mild grade with a bucket load and the tractor started acting like it wanted to cut off. When I stopped backing up, it acted all right. Anyone else experienced this? Let me say, "Thanks" now for any comments.

Was your fuel level low?

There are several articles on here where members have expressed a similar problem. Do a search and you will find some great info.

Could have been a issue of alot of weight being on the front, with a full bucket and everything. Just alot of weight and might have bogged down the engine some. Try not to back up a hill with the bucket loaded, drive forwards for better traction and less likely to flip over.

By any chance was your butt raising up off the seat enough to trigger the driver in seat safety switch? Been there done that!

I'd bet on either a fuel level/obstruction/debris/water problem if you're sure a safety switch isn't at fault. No way a bucket of dirt should bog down your tractor. If I couldn't back up out of a hole with a loaded bucket I'd be in trouble. I've had to winch my tractor out backwards while it sat spinning in reverse on more than a few times when it's too steep to back out and I lose traction even with a full bucket.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I had pretty much a full tank and I thought that it might be a safety switch issue, so I kept my butt seated. The problem does not always happen, so I'll pay extra attention to my fuel. If the problem continues, I'll be asking for more input. Thanks to all. Rod

Pay extra attention to your seat switch, you are leaning forward if you are backing up a hill backwards. You may just want to disconnect the sensor, put in a jumper wire and of course ALWAYS remember you did that. OH, by the way, was it cutting out or just lugging down? A lower gear may be in order.
