Being that this is a Kubota based site... I'm going to say the JD is the better bet!

Both nice machines, but the DPF related problems on these new tractors turn me off.

What are DPF related problems, and for which tractor ? I'm probably going to regret asking...but I can't help it.
I don't follow John Deere's so I don't know what is going on with them, but the B3350 and L60 Kubota models are having lots of shut downs and fault codes especially in colder climates. And they have to regen quite often which involves not moving your tractor for 20 minutes or more while it sits there at high RPM burning fuel.
I was looking at a B3350 before I bought my 2620 and one salesman said "don't walk away.....run."

Once they get that figured out though, they are very nice tractors.

I quit looking at Deere not long after the 1R series was out. Every tractor forum I look at had nothing but thread after thread about problems and build quality issues on the 1R, 2000 and 3000 series tractors. But yet they all kept saying it was still the best tractor out there, LOL.

Everyone likes the brand they own for sure. But there is no group of tractor owners with blind-loyalty more than JD owners. Its damn near a cult. LOL

Every color out there has made their share of lemons.

True Texasboy . Maybe the JD owners post more in the tractor forums, I don't know, but the forums sure turned me off from wanting one. Just read through a JD forum.....it is one horror story after another. I don't see that much in all the other brands put together.

I would not be the least bit surprised if the JD 3720 isn't built by Yanmar in the first place. Alot of Deeres are now being built by Yanmar which probably answers why they have gone down hill to junk.

If you're looking at buying one of two Japanese tractors might as well buy the best there is out there... KUBOTA!

This should pretty much sum it all up!

"Yanmar entered into an arragement with John Deere and began building several utility tractor models in the early 1980s for Deere. Yanmar continues to be an engine suppiler for Deere's utility tractors. "Grey-market" imported Yanmar tractors are popular in North America for their low cost and quality."

I have to agree with TexasBoy. JD Green is a Cult / Status symbol machine. They continue to follow blindly & drink the lemonade.

We own several different brands and like certain models of John Deere as well certain models of Kubota, Massey Ferguson, Kioti etc. As mentioned this is a Kubota site, so some will definitely have a preference.

You might want to pose the same question on the John Deere site; diversity of opinion can often help: http://www.greentractortalk.com/forums/forum.php

A friend of mine has a good friend who is a dealer for both JD and Orange. In confidence to my friend, the dealer said the maintenance work and repair required on Kubota is much less than the JD coming to his shop.

So basically if you're the consumer you want a KUBOTA. If you want to start a stealership and repair shop you'll go JD.

I dove them both again today, and the l3540 tier 3....the JD is smaller than both of the Kubotas but has more hp 44. My B3030 has enough power I just want a bigger cab, I think Im leaning towards the l3540 about 5 grand cheaper than both.

I have decided on the l3540, now I need input on the best fel.
Awesome unit, love (her) my L3540. I have the 72" heavy duty bucket, which is a beast.

Nothing wrong with the Kubota FEL that comes with it. Bucket choice is up to you. I initially did not like the QD/skid steer system, but have grown to like it a lot. I am frequently changing between the bucket and snow plow blade, both winter and summer.
I'm - ahem - green with envy; the GRAND L series are real tractors!
