I meant the welder burned all those teeth on in one sitting. Thats alot of heat for 1/2" plate. I can slow my root pass on pipe and watch it pull the length of pipe level/plumb on my level. My guess, its not bent, but rather heat-distorted. Might not be a big deal, but if tolerances are too close??

Madmax, I'm guessing time is at a premium for that company as it takes 4 wks or better to get the bar. Sounds like they've got more work than they can handle. Got my Piranha bar in yesterday and it's straight as an arrow, but it's made differently than the regular bar.

A local dealer had an old bucket out back that was really faded but looked unused and close enough in dimensions that I bought it from him and modified it to where it works well enough. It was quite a battle to get the old bucket off and the new one pinned/shimmed on. As much as I wish to preserve the new edge on this bucket I'm still having a difficult time understanding when a toothbar helps and when its a hindrance. (other than scraping snow off a driveway perhaps) I've toyed with the ratchet rake thing in my head too. As neat as they are they have that "one time" look to them where I can see doing some clean-up around the place and then never needing them again. Obviously there is a reason they can be unbolted and put away but I wonder how often they come back out and are put on again? When a piranha and when a standard toothbar? etc.

Clay, I have had all 3 and the best all around is the Pirahna, I haven't needed to take it off as you can still back drag to level, still scoop dirt and clean up the weeds. I modified the Ratchet Rake to fit my BX and if I am doing a major clean up I would give it a slight nod over the Pirahna as it works well both directions. The challenge is you have to take it off to dig. If you can have both go for it, if it is one then the Pirahna. I gave away my tooth bar as it had no value over the other 2. With I had the Pirahna first it would have saved me some $$. Good luck with a purchase.

Going a little different direction. Pulled the trigger on a Piranha bar today. The only disadvantage I can see is maybe it's not as good as a standard bar at digging. I think I've got enough power and weight for it not to be a problem.
It will be on my M5140. Haven't seen many report on using the bar on a larger tractor. Will report back on how it works.
TKM I sent you a PM as I am wondering how you like the Piranha bar ? As I also have a M5140

Thanks
