tires leaking

So I noticed the other day that both my front tires were flat. Aired them up found the leaks and bought a plug kit.

Question is I got 2 leaks next to each other 1-1.5" apart.
Is it ok to plug that close together

My back tire is looking low I'm loaded with juice whats the best way to fix it if I find a leak ?
I know to make sure the work is on the topside so not to make to much of a mess

I have a bx1860. The front tires are awful. They leaked constantly, I had the dealer put tubes in. It's been fine ever since.

I put fix a flat goo in the front tires when by bx was new, never had a problem

the BX series seems to have had problems with that since day one,, SO you tube them or slime them,, I did the slime and have not had an issue since 06 when I bought mine

Foam fill your front tires.

Flats will soon be forgotten, at least on the front tires. Fronts are small and not that expensive to foam fill. Did it on both my tractors over a decade ago.

I was told Foam filling front tires would add 50 pounds per tire. On a little BX is that ok for front steering system? i would like to do this...

I foam filled the tires on the front of both my tractors close to 15 years ago and have never noticed any issues. If I remember correctly the BX 2200 foam filled front tires weighed about 80 pounds each total after filling.

I remember walking into the shop with one tire in each hand. When I picked them up one tire was heavier than both were in the beginning…no way I was going to walk out of the shop with a filled tire in each hand.

BX foam filled rear tires weigh about 180 pounds each, if I remember right…

Only BX's I've had to do rear wheel bearings and front hub bearings on were those that had foam filled tires. Can't say that the excessive weight of the tires caused it, but that's what I saw. Never had a stock-tired BX with bad bearings/hubs. At least not yet

How much weight that is in the tire has no effect on the bearings because the tires are not hanging off them. The weight of the tractor + filled tires is your ground weight, the tractor never knows the difference. Until you put weight on the tractor frame, like with a FEL or something on the 3 pt then the bearing will notice a downward load on them. SO just pick up a couple jugs of slime fill them and drive around mow the grass what ever they will seal up and seal any holes you might have

Guess I should've said I did plug 3 of the holes I had. Out of 4

I was wondering if it was ok to put 2 plugs about a inch apart. But I think I will just slime the front call it good.
But back to the other question is I think I got a slow leak in one of my rear tires. Will I be fine if I plug this myself or should I take it in to get fixed.

I have beet juice in the rear tire and don't what to spray myself in the face with it trying to plug the tire

Plugs are no problem at all, no matter how close together. These are low speed OTR tires. Passenger tire repair is completely different. Problem with tubed tires, you can't plug them. I had a door hinge 1" slice in a calcium filled rear. Had a little trouble getting the brown string repairs to quit sliding out because of the calcium. When I finally got em to stick, no problem and no leaks for about a year now. Someday I'm sure I'll have to do a section (boot) repair on this.

The problem with Slime is that the wheels will internally rust. Front wheels on my 9N Ford had to be replaced due to wheel rust/integrity was lost. Of course, that likely took a couple decades...

I replaced them with new wheels and installed new tubes/tires. I personally prefer tubes rather than Slime in any wheels.

A really good guess as to why foam filled tires could cause premature failure to the bearings is they don't give any-a much more rigid ride. There's no give to the tires, thus no cushioning affect as you would get from an air filled tire.

Every bump goes straight to the bearings, instead of the pressure being somewhat absorbed by an air filled tire. Ever notice a stiffer ride by overinflating a tire? Or a softer ride by underinflating?
