Slime, like loads of other bicycle tire sealant will eventually need to be topped off or replaced. In the cycling world, I need to add a few oz of sealant every 3 or so months, and will pull tires off, clean inside the tire and wheel really well with alcohol, replace rim tape, and add new sealant. I could be wrong here, but that stuff isn't made as a permeant fix - I would steer clear of the stuff for tractors and especially vehicles, but that's my $0.02.

My experience is similar. Been a couple decades ago now, but I commuted 16 miles each way to work by bicycle year round for five years, and on my commuter bike I put slime in the tubes.
It did work...for a while...but eventually it didn't and the result was a flat on the way to work (or coming home) that I had to fix. Carried spare tubes and some tools, so not a real issue. Just a learning experience... (not much fun in below freezing temperatures by the way...LOL)
Interesting...and perhaps true. My experience has been positive...so far. It has been over a year since I put slime into the left front. It had not been deflating quickly but with a time span of a couple of days, I could see that there was a slow leak somewhere. I thought it may have been the valve stem but that seemed tight. I tried the old soapy water discovery but didn't get anywhere. So, we'll see how much longer it holds. Then, again, I use my tractor "gently."

bx1500? It's a little baby tractor, designed primarily to cut your lawn. And the tires/wheels are designed for that purpose.
you can foam fill them and they won't ever go flat again but once you wear the tread off, you have to buy a whole tire/wheel assembly. And they ride very rough. Kinda hard on the tractor and on your body.
the sealant works pretty good for tread leaks, but will not seal bead or sidewall leaks. Keep that in mind. I have filled (about 75%) some of those tires with sealant and that works until the sealant leaks out of cracked or broken sidewalls or beads....

I asked about that at the place I got my tires foam filled at. They told me they just cut the tire/foam combination off, and install a new tire. No need to buy a new rim for the sake of a new tire...
20 plus years and maybe 1400 hours on my BX, and the tires are still in pretty good condition. No concrete or asphalt surfaces driven on much though...almost never...

The labor to R&R a foam filled tire is at least double that.
At $125/hr it doesn't take long to rack up.

why? Tried putting two tubes, both leaky because it seems difficult to get the tube in there properly without damaging it…

I'll probably get this one if you guys say they fit, then if they go flat, I try that foam idea (not great stuff brand, the actual professional way someone mentioned)
The lug pattern is "R4" correct?
