Howdy All
Sort of like the title says, I have a BX2380 with 18 x 8.5 (not sure the meaning of this part) 10NHS. My front tire is flat I found the spot it is leaking, and went to plug it. It is at the base of a tread, so I put the reamer in and it followed along vertical or along a ply inside of the tire. There is no where open to get it patched from the inside. I can get a tube from Tractor Supply for it I think, but it does not say for a tractor.

So my question is pretty simple. My tire is still good except for the hole in it. What style tube will work for it? I sort of need it this weekend. I have a T/S a Rural King and a Walmart near by. Will a normal tube work? I hate feeling stupid about these things(-;

Your tire is 18" in diameter, 8.5" wide on a 10 inch rim. Any 8.5 x 10 inch tube will do. No need to feel stupid, we all need to learn every thing we know.

Well no one had tubes, so I decided to use Multi Seal Flatout. I lifted the front end pulled the shader valve out. Used the entire bottle (32oz) in the tire. After I put air in it I could see the stuff coming out of the hole. I spun the tire a few more times and let it sit with the hole on the bottom. I inflated it to 20PSI and it is holding. If it leaks down I will get a tube.

Thanks

Flat Out says it seals up to a 1/2" puncture with kevlar fibers. Can't ask for much more. It's good stuff. Don't give up too easily.

I had a split in a tire on my side by side Ranger. Put that stuff in and drove down the road with the leaking tire in the ditch so the juice would have a chance to get to the cut easier. Sealed it.

Glad you are back in business.

Buy the tube for future use, or plan on getting somebody to patch the tire on the inside sometime, maybe relatively soon...

Just a realistic skeptic regarding this being a long term solution... :ROFLMAO:

Edit: I got the front tires on my BX foam filled for this exact reason. Never a worry afterwards...that was 17 years ago...

Agreed.

I would expect leakage soon.

Time to buy a tire changer? Then you can patch from inside yourself?

I've got mini tire change from Harbor Freight, used it in front mower tires and dump cart tires. supposed to be able to handle up to 12" rim (4"-12"). They also sell a bigger one to handle up to light truck (whatever size that means) auto tires.

Glad you got it fixed.

I have the small HF one also. I tried it on my XG850 Sidekick tires, and well it didn't go so well. I went to get the bigger one from HF on Sunday, but no one had tubes in stock along with not knowing if a ply was split or not. I figured the Flatout would work until I could get a tube. Then head to HF and get the tire changer.

I worked at a JD dealership and we dealt multiseal. A rep demonstrated it to us. Amazing stuff. fluided tires also doesn't deactivate it. Harder to find, but has Slime beat for Ag or Industrial tires hands down. Slime states no guarantee after 2 years. Unaware of an expiration date on multiseal.

As far as breaking it down and patching inside try to find "plug patches". Don't slide around while drying missing the hole. Also drive over it to unseat the bead. Then pry it off the rim. Unseating the bead is the toughest part.

Multi Seal is Flat Out.
