I was going to have the L4060 setup with the widest rear wheel spacing (R4 tires) since we have slopes, but no skinny places. I got to thinking about the relationship between wide rear wheel spacing and the front mount snow blower. When cutting a curve through 2 feet of snow I would prefer that the rear wheels don't knock down the snow behind me.

Any thoughts or experience to share are appreciated.

I have a 50 inch wide front mount snowblower on my B7100 and a 72 inch rear scraper blade. I know my situation is not exactly what you're facing . Even with the blade angled it still will knock snow down from my nice cut snowblower edge.
As I suspect your concerned about leaving a nice looking snow removal job. If your back tires are knocking snow along that cut edge it takes away from the appearance , but in reality does not affect being able to use the drive or parking area. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks, Ken.

Actually, more concerned about getting stuck than appearance. I have some curves to do and will be on frozen turf and alfalfa field making a drivable path down hill to our pond.

How wide are blower and rear tread width, if set to max?

Blower is 72". I am wondering if I should have the dealer the rears to maximum width. Haven't taken delivery of the tractor, yet.

I can't speak about a tractor with a blower but I know when I had had a smaller blower on my skid loader that didn't take out the wheel tracks I had a fair amount of problems getting stuck. In my area when I really needed the blower the drifts were tall and I needed to blow my wheel tracks out. I sold the smaller blower and bought one that would take out my wheel tracks and then the problem was solved.

I've had front blowers on small tractors for 20 years. We can get some pretty big snow on occasion.

The blower doesn't take tight turns well on my BX, does much better in a straight line, or gradual turns (e.g., takes some of the turning radius issue away). Not sure how a much larger machine will work.

Maybe check Kubota website, Owners Manual or Workshop Manual for width options. Guessing you could be getting close to 72" tread width....

I think you have a valid concern, and are wise to research now. It stinks getting stuck while snowblowing. It's a rarity for me, but have a couple times.

Getting stuck doing snow removal will ruin your day. I have gotten our Mule with front blade stuck a few times and have become much more cautious with the "Oh yeah, I can make it" approach!:cautious:

I change my rear tires every spring and fall, partly for this reason. Narrower in winter to stay behind the blower. Works better all around.

I do have a chain hoist and being an old geezer I would probably need to use it to switch back and forth. :D

I'm not a young geezer by any means, and I use a lift table and overhead crane for much smaller wheel/tire combinations. Probably because I worked hard for so many years, now I have no choice but to work smart.

Bone on bone will get smart work going, albeit too late.

You will appreciate having a blower that is wider than the tractor. I ran a smaller bower mounted on my loader and found it ended up compacting the snow base more because I was always driving on the fresh snow with the rears, especially on turns.
