I a relatively new owner of a B2400, and I'm looking at replacing tires. The rear set are the Ag type, and the front are the turf. Current rear tires are 31x15.50-15 NHS. Fronts are 20x10.00-10. According to my manual, I purchased a set of "Ag" style tires that are 7-12, but they look way too high and are questionable if they will clear the front loader. Given the turf tires are 10-wide and the new tires are 12. am I looking at new rimes too?

yes ! You can't put 10" wide tires on 12" rims.
Up here I can buy tire and rim CHEAPER than tire only.
For my BX23S rear tire is $500, same tire on rim $350.

FYI you should run same style tire on all 4 corners, else trouble can occour.

Good to know about width! But here's what scares me a bitt (see photos). That's quite a difference - and these are the recommended 7-12s.

well I'm really confused ! I looked at Kub CDA parts and that is the ag front, BUT the ag REAR isn't31-15.5x15......
dwg #s are R10102 for fronts, R11003 for rears.
Hopefully someone here can set us all straight !

Yea, if I could actually get those new tires on the existing rims, the tractor's nose would be up in the air :) And I doubt that I could turn the wheels without rubbing the front loader. Hard to say what the previous owner really did with it. Worse comes to worse, I could always put 20x10-10 (or 12) Ag tires on it and call it a day.

So when you say “match” are you talking about tire size or tread type (or both)? Obviously, I have to deal with what the previous owner left me with, and the spec tires may not fit (or will fit if I replace all 4?) ouch. I was just shooting to somewhat match tire tread instead of having turf style on the front and Ag on the back.

Not sure why you want to put different tires on the front. I bought a B8200 brand new in 1985 and came with "turf' tires on the front and "ag" on the rear. Tractor had a loader and I used those tires until I sold the tractor 30 years later! Never had a flat on that tractor as long as I owned it.

Ok, I guess the Ag tires go back. As was previously mentioned, mismatched tires (I was thinking tread) wouldn’t be good for the 4wd, but if yours came that way, then I’ll either leave them be or find an Ag tire that matches the size of the turf tires. I just wanted something a bit more aggressive than the turf tires on the front.

Let me see if I can set a few things straight.
Those rims would not fit those tires period.
7-12 is not Width it's 12" rim size and ag tires fit on a 4.5 to 5.5 inch wide rim, not 10" wide.
So you would need different rims.

But all of this doesn't really matter because you DO NOT have AG (R1) rear tires, you have old Bar style / combination (R3) Turf tires.
They are the same size as standard block turf tires.
So the tire ratio is right as it sits right now.

If you put R1 tires on the front you would need R1 tires in the rear too.
Which would mean all new tires and rims.

If your looking for more aggessive tires in the front:

Awesome! Thanks folks, this really helps. Sound like I have the wrong user manual to go by, or there were multiple versions of the tractor available at the time. The rear tire does seem a bit worn, and I suspect all tires being original. I like those aftermarket tires, even if they are only 2-ply, but wow, are those numbers are all over the place. 14x45x6 doesn't sound close to 20x10-10. And do they make the R3s any more?

After a lot of digging around, I've pretty much given up on finding more aggressive front tires. 20x10x10 R3s just don't seem to exist (I looked for R3s based on the comments from Wolfman, thanks for the clarification!) The ones shown above are more for ATV and don't have the load capacity of a tractor tire (the Carlisle turf tires are rated 1225 lbs, the ATV tires are generally 300 lbs). The closest I can get are these tires:

along with a set of 10(dia) x 8(wide) rims, and even then, rims only seem available 8.5 wide. Does that 1/2" matter?

I suspect the R3 is the same size as the turf, and probably the same size as industrial. I suspect (but don't know for sure) that it's mainly the ag tires that are materially different.

Yes, it's hard on the 4wd if you have sizes a bit off. But if you're using your 4wd properly, you're only using it in conditions where you have slip. If you have slip anyway (sand, mud etc) then it won't matter.....

I reckon you could just keep what you have. But if you didn't want to, I'd be tempted to just buy new industrials on new rims, and be done with it.
