I need a 50 hp tractor/fel that will handle a Farmi, work as a bulldozer, brush hog and plow snow. Which Kubota is actually a 50 hp UTILITY tractor?

I know of no farm tractors that function properly as a bulldozer.

Kubota lists the MX and M60 tractors as utility tractors, but there are quite a few Kubota tractors in the 50hp and up range capable of handling a Farmi winch, moving dirt, brush hogging and snow plowing. The Grand L60 Series, M62 (more commerical grade) and probably some others.

Spend some time on Kubota's website and you'll soon see that there are lots of choices, both gear drive and HST.

I own a MX6000 and like the tractor but I think the three point might be a little light for the kind of work you want to do, When you mention bulldozer's and three point winches you may want to look at more of a construction grade tractor. I have seen many 100-150 HP farm tractors destroyed when folks added front mount blades on them and thought they were a dozer.

You're better off buying a "logging dozer", a normal dozer with extra guarding and a higher mounted winch. I doubt there is a tractor on the market that will stand up to what you want to do.

I’m aware you stated you use your Long 470 as a “dozer” but am assuming that’s a bit of hyperbole to describe hard use as it’s pretty clear a Long 470 isn’t a bulldozer. If you need a dozer… others have covered that thoroughly.

You didn’t say what size winch you have. I have a Farmi W50R on a L4701. There are several here with similar size skidding winches on MX xx00 tractors. Obviously, if you have a larger winch you likely need to consider a larger machine to hook it to.

Looking at specs on the Long 470 open station (didn’t see a cab option), I suspect a MX 5400 or MX 6000 would be most comparable in the Kubota line. They are “basic” utility tractors one frame size larger than my L. Couldn’t find the specs for bare weight of the Long 470. I would think weight would be important for your use so picking a machine with open station bare weight similar to your Long should get you in the right ballpark. Aware you’d almost certainly be ballasting past bare weight but bare weight gives a decent comparison of frame size.

Look at the L47 TLB or M62TLB, more rugged and heavy than a "standard" tractor.

OP, I sort of think it depends on your expectation for ‘bullDOZING’. What does ‘dozing’ mean on a tractor? Comfy Air ride seat to take a nap 😉or you really do in fact want the capability of a small dozer?

I am asking because I can’t imagine a utility tractor as a dozer. I think depending on your answer it might suggest some different options as many machines can easily handle all the task listed except the dozer part.

There really is no comparison of a dozer and a utility tractor for that task. Take a D3C for example…it’s similar (not same) dimensions and HP as an M tractor, but it weighs close to 16k lbs. from a weight and traction standpoint tractors just won’t compete with that IMO.

Yes, the term bulldozer was hyperbole. The tractor is mostly used to maintain roads along with a HD back blade. I use a tractor as a tractor not a lawn toy! I've had the poor Long standing on one front tire when moving mud.

How does the MX series compare to the M? Not sure I want a hydrostatic drive, just a hyd shuttle. We have a M7030 for the heavy lifting but is too big for road work.
