I’m getting ready for fall servicing and curious if one type of grease is better for greasing tractor and loader components.

A moly grease is usually mentioned in the owners manual. I use it only for pin and bushing type of joints and regular grease for ball bearings.

Usually the tractor has an Owners Manual that recommends “multipurpose” grease and the Loader has it’s separate Owners Manual that specifies “Moly” grease. Since Moly is neither multipurpose nor good for roller bearings, don’t use just “one type” because that would not “be better”.

YMMV

I use Lucas Red N Tacky for tractor, FEL, RFM, aerator, etc. I don't use the FEL or aerator enough to worry about using different types of grease.

Red N Tacky here as well. Most don’t grease enough and that is the bigger problem. I grease every 10 hours. As they say in The Mag 7, “so far so good”.

Where is this sold?
everywhere.

I begrudgingly switched to two greases as well. Red & Tacky for roller bearings, stuff spinning quickly, and Schaeffer 274 for loader.

I’m not a “true-believer” of most of the Lucas marketing/propaganda…. (in their claims that their other products are any better than most major-brands)….except that their “Red N Tacky” has been proven to be an excellent/superior multipurpose grease.

Not to start a grease war, but something slippery, is better than not.

Saying that, I use moly on the loader, and general purpose on anything else. Trailer bearings, PTO shafts, mower spindles and so on. I have two guns, so I don't have to switch them out. Both have Lock and lube couplers.

Second, lock and lube!
Worth their weight in gold!

I first bought one for work, county employees don't like to grease anything! Really helped in muscling old grease through for new to get in. Since then, have bought 3 more for the crews and 2 for myself.

What is a lock and lube? A special grease gun?

Just ordered this from from Lock N Lube last week. Got the Lock N Lube short tip, the swivel, and a 90° adapter as well. I use Lucas Red And Tacky grease in it. The tip works amazing. Highly recommended.

Got a Milwaukee this year also. Wasn’t happy with it at first, but it’s grown on me.

To the OP, I use Red n Tacky exclusively. Like others said, any grease used regularly is better than none.

Very nice! Not sure why mine didn’t come in a bag, i got The bare tool version. But i love It. You need to get the Lock N Lube for it.
