I recently sold and then purchased a tractor and with the new purchase I got a tiller. When trying to connect the drift shaft from the tiller to the PTO Shaft it will not connect. The tiller shaft will not collapseshort enough to get the connector on the shaft on the PTO shaft. I have never had this challenge with any other implement.
I fully understand it could be me, but any suggestions on the problem?

Good day.

The description to me sounds like the shaft may be not be correct length.

if you did not measure and trim PTO shaft to fit your machine, I’d start with that. And if you did that, I’d recheck the math.

if you did the above I’m out of helpful ideas. 🥃

Sounds like the PTO drive shaft is too long. Plenty of Youtube videos showing how to correctly measure and cut the shaft to fit properly. If the tractor and tiller were purchased from a dealer, they should have done it before you took delivery.
