I've had my L 2501 about 2 summers and have had to replace 4 tie rods. Initially, I was bush hogging a rough field for the first 2, but the last 2 have broken while mowing short grass in a 'tame' field.

Any idea what could be causing the tie rods to break?

Maybe be more specific?

I thought a vehicle generally only had one tie rod...are you referring to the ends of the tie rod? Or?

There are both inner and outer tie rods and a center sleeve which has both left and right-hand internal threads that allow for adjustment of the tie rods.

Where are they breaking?
A picture of a broken one might help too.

Brush or grass cannot cause the tie rods to fail, so it must be something else. Either someone is using the tractor without you knowing or you are running into things.
