Hi guys, got a B2400 with 1100 hrs. After starting and warm up at low speed when I go to WOT to operate the control lever will not stay in position and rpm's will drop a few hundred. I can move it back and engine speed goes up to normal 2450 but will not stay unless manually held there. Weird thing is after awhile and numerous times moving it to WOT it will eventually stay in position. Is there some area where friction holds in place that can be tightened? Doesn't matter if it is hot or cold out, it does it for about the 1st 15 minutes of operation. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how yours works, but my Ford 1210 did that and it was a simple matter of snugging a small bolt/nut where the cable connected to near the engine.

I like Chim's idea - there should be a friction plate and "nuts" that needs to be tightened a bit

Unlock the 2 nuts at the bottom of the lever, then snug up the upper nut till the throttle feels right.
Then lock the 2 bottom nuts together.

Mine was even simpler - the rubber grommet worked its way up out of the hole in the dash, letting the throttle lever move too easily. Pushed the grommet back in and the problem was solved.

Thanks for all the prompt replies gentlemen. Appreciate the diagram from Wolfman. Looks like it might be a little difficult to get to but will check it out as soon as I can. Let you know how I make out. Will be out of town for a week or 2. This forum has saved my butt before, likely again. THANKS
