Throttel doesnt return to idle? L225

So I got the l225 diesel running and steering box back together and put about 4 hrs on her bush hogging my over grown field of 7' tall saplings.

I noticed it would not return to low idle? When you push throttle to idle it only slows down to maybe 300 rpm above low idle. If you kinda move the lever quick it will go to low idle or if you move throttle rod at pump by hand it will low idle. I checked all linkage for binding seems to move free. I feel like there is a return spring missing but dont see a location where it was so am guessing spring is in top of pump?
Any help why it will not return to low idle or where return spring should be? Thanks in advance.

There is 4 springs, 2 on the throttle lever and 2 on the inside governor / Injection pump assembly.

It's easy to tell which one is bad.
Disconnect the throttle linkage off of the top of the Injection pump and see if you still have the same problem, if you do then it's the internal springs. ;)

Ha! i have an L225DT that does the same thing, has for years. Thats funny!! I just figured thats just the way it is but now I'm gonna look for worn springs.

My L1501 doing same thing- getting worse over a couple weeks. If i was to add a spring somewhere would i just be covering up a more serious problem, like rack hanging up?
A fuel additive help?

My intention is not to hijack this thread, we all have similar issues, possibly we can all learn something today.

Had a look at it, seems shaft is a little tight at injection pump. Loosened nuts and sprayed wd-40 around the shaft. Loosened up right away. Not returning to low idle, but it will lower rpms to the way it was when i got it.
