Guys I have been reading through all these forums, watching videos, reading, and we decided on a couple different size sub compact tractors. We called around to all the dealers locally, and one really stood out as knowledgeable. So long story we drove there and after a nice long discussion we made a decision on a new unit sitting there with a lot of attachments.
Anyway they stated 1-2weeks to pick up, I was a bit stunned by that as we were in immediate need. Well at 2 weeks we stopped there to see what was going on and he said everything was there (tractor was there and was pinned as ours from day 1), we looked at the tractor and it had hours on it now clearly getting used as demo’s (last one they have). So they proceeded to tell us it won’t be ready for another week, well that was two weeks ago and still nothing..it’s been a month now.

What do you do at this point? My frustration has boiled over a couple times as I was shoveling yards and yards of dirt and gravel over the past month in this nice beautiful heat. I did not expect to take it home that day but a week would have been acceptable. Stated many times we need this ASAP.

Thanks!

Me personally, I would tell the dealer to keep it, as they have broken your agreement!
Have they even bothered to call and give you updates?
Why would you except a demo for a new unit?
Why would you also have to wait for the unit if it was already there on their lot?
If it takes them a month to get you the tractor that they have on the lot what's going to happen when it needs service, same crappy time frames?

Sounds like a real winner of a dealer, NOT!

IF that dealer is that bad on a sale, I'd cancel and buy elsewhere. IF he's using YOUR tractor as a demo, until a new arrival, I would DEFINITELY cancel, as the new one will probably then be used as the "in stock" model, and you will get the demo unit.

Second, if that's the kind of treatment you get as a buyer, what do you expect will be your treatment would be when you need service?

Better find another dealer.

Yup, time to tell those bozos to take a long walk off a short pier. They obviously don't give a rat's rump about your business.

Welcome to the forum, but not under the best circumstances.

You didn't mention what you have in writing on the tractor or delivery or if you left them with a check. Those items make a difference as to how and how quick you can move on.

If they've had your money for a month that's one thing. If they deliver a tractor with more than a couple of hours on it that's another. When they deliver it can change in a moment if the first item has not been sealed.

Simply call them, and sent a letter to confirm in writing, you're not accepting a tractor with more than -"blank" hours. Detail the conversation with the sales/staff on the purchase of NEW, and delivery.

If they don't have any of your money, just move on to a dealer who shows concern for his customer. But I'd still send them a letter detailing why!

We live in a world of "customer no service", but we don't expect that from a Kubota dealer!!

I agree with everyone above.

I bought one that was on the lot and it was delivered 50 miles away the next day. I would not accept anything else.

Everytime I go in to get parts or supplies, my salesman wants to know how it is working and if there is anything I need. He gets a lot of repeat business.

Thanks everyone. We are still holding the cash.
Wife broke down and called them this evening, they agreed to have it ready by next weekend. She said the lady that answered seemed snooty, and bothered to answer these questions.

I will be calling other dealers in the morning.

Hope service is not like this, seriously.

When I bought my first Kubota in 1980 I wasn't looking for a Kubota. I needed something to replace a 10HP Craftsman lawn mower. It was totally wore out and broke down in 4 years.

One Sat. morning I went to a nearby city "to buy" a small tractor/mower...something, that day.

Went to the local Ford Tractor dealer, at about 9AM and walked around the machines setting outside their door. After about 10 minutes, when no one came out, I went in. Three guys in there...they never said good morning, we're closed, have some coffee...nothing. I went over and got a cup of coffee, and they still never said a word.

I went back outside and continued looking at the small tractors, new and used. Finally a guy came out and asked if he could help me!!

I say, "You sure can. I came to buy a small tractor or mower." And he started telling me about his items. After about his first sentence I asked him, "Who is your stiffest competition?" He said. "Kubota. I asked him where they were located, and he told me just down the street to the other end of town by the concrete plant.

I told him I appreciate the help because I was going there to see what they had. I told him based on my experience with him and his co-workers ignoring the customer I would not be interested in his tractors. And left.

Bought a B6100 that morning!! Delivered the following weekend.

Don't hesitate to move on!!!!

About how I am feeling now.

I did stop at another dealer last night, they were busy and it was almost closing time so I left, however they will be getting a call in the AM.

Wife and I carried all these blocks, wheel barrel the gravel, dirt and sand...for these two projects over the past month (fire pit and raised Pergola) a tractor would have been nice.
