i was retiring and selling my business without the adjacent 35 acres of land. I bought a new kubota m 60 60 with the best radial tires front kubota # amr- 8586 size 320/85r20 rear weighted #amr 8570 size 420/ 70r28 to manage the acreage. The problem the buyer decided to buy the land. I have a 5 acre homstead with a B 7100 and a bx 2680 which works well. I love my M but anytime i use it for yard work it tears up my yard. So i paid 4500 dollars and got a new set of kubota turf tires they are great. I am older 67 and was wondering should i try to sell the tires? or keep them to sell as a package when it is time to sell the M? What do you all think a set of the ag tires with 50 hours on them might be worth. Thanks Vern

I would keep the AG tires, it will help the sale of the M in the future.

Just tires, not wheels and tires?

Guessing they are R4 industrial, as you swapped turfs onto your current wheels?

Or R1 agricultural tires with wheels?

I don’t know where Wauconda is, but if it’s in an agricultural area you might get some interest for a loader tractor.

If R4, your tires might cross with some commercial tractor/loader/backhoe sizes.

If R1 agricultural tires, probably could find interest in the tires. Wheels could be an issue, since they’re Kubota specific.

Typically money today is better than money tomorrow. And at the rate of inflation, it maybe be hard to get enough money tomorrow to make it worth waiting.

I know I’ll be older in a decade than I am now, and so will the tires. Some folks prefer new tires made in the last year or two than lightly used tires made a decade ago. At the very least you’ve got a nice M6060 with two sets of tires out of the situation.

Definitely keep them to sell with the tractor. Tires aren't cheap, and people are inherently lazy. If you look around online tractors with turf tires are usually listed for less money and still take longer to sell. To say the number of people that want turfs over other tires are a minority is an understatement.

I spent an unreasonable amount of time looking around online at tractors and equipment of all sizes before buying my LX. In general there are 3 key factors that can make or break their resale. 2wd over 4wd, turfs over ags, and an absent loader.

I'm torn on my vote.

On one hand, I say "Is there anyone that changes tires on their tractor enough to make having an extra set worth keeping around?"

After all, it seems a little time consuming especially if they are loaded.


On the other hand,

1. At the current rate of inflation, they probably aren't losing too much value. Hell, they might even be appreciating.

2. It seems likely that having them would help resale.

3. The future is a strange thing, maybe you'll need them.



I have almost always regretted selling any tool, or gun that I have ever bought, and I suppose this qualifies as a tool.

I guess I'm leaning towards voting to keep them.

Especially, if you can keep them out of the weather and in good shape.

Now you can practice your "NASCAR pit skills" on the weekends.....(hahaha. ....JK)

I guess they would help in the resell if your gonna just include them with the tractor without increasing the price. I think selling them now being like new is the way to go. if these tires didn’t work for your property they are not gonna be any good for spares.
I think you’ll be able to get more for them now than you would be able to increase the tractor value with them in say 10 years

Id sell them to recoup some of my money from the new tires I bought or maybe put it into a nice tint job or some thing else for the tractor maybe. put it in your pocket for a rainy day.

Sell 'em. Tires have a lifespan. They're not doing you any good just taking up space. I doubt the next owner of the tractor would be willing to pay a premium for an extra set of tires. Try FB Marketplace, seems to get lots of activity. Good Luck!

I would sell the tires. When I bought my M6060 about 14 months ago I upgraded the front wheels and tires in short order from the standard Goodyear Duratorque 9.5-24 Ag R1 bias tires (shown below) to 320/85R20 R1s. I got about 60% of the cost of the upgrade back in my pocket. The wheels and tires would have got in the way and the rubber would have rotted out eventually so it made no sense to keep them.

Those Goodyear tires are around $320 each new. The bottom photo shows the upgrades wheels and tires.

Tires have a lifespan.

The rubber in tires needs to be stretched and relaxed on a "regular" basis. They don't do well just sitting so I'm with you. Sell them.

Me, too. I need all of the stuff that I've had for years and don't seem to use.

It's very easy to change tires and/or wheels, harder to find a loader, and basically impossible to convert a 2WD to 4WD. Those three factors aren't even close to having parity.

It's been a lifelong, constant "mental struggle" for me....keep it....or sell it....or trash it????

Just yesterday I scavenged a start capacitor from a "junk motor" I had on the shelf to fix the pool pump motor.
