Hey. stranger things have happened I bet. I’ve noticed getting older that my hair doesn’t grow as fast as it used to. And my wife who used to cut it all the time really is not up to doing that anymore. Last time I had a haircut was done by my elder daughter. And that was last July I think. So at this point, I need to make a decision on what to do. And I was just running my fingers through my hair and happen to think well, it almost feels like I could start a ponytail!

I think bikerMike might have a ponytail. Maybe he gave me the idea? Anyway at 76 years old, I am fortunate to have hair that still grows even if slowly! How nuts is this? This is what I am dealing with. Color is natural. Just the way I am…photo taken a few weeks ago. I cut off most of the ugly parts. LOL (not counting the grandkids and my wife who were also in the photo!)

Ponytail is like a neck tattoo in that it shows the world you crave attention and you make bad decisions. :p

whenever I see a man with a ponytail I immediately think of 1960's hippies that never grew up. Someone that is not reliable and irresponsible. Not to mention the dirty hair.

My wife just cut a good 4-5 inches off my ponytail. She said it looked a rat's nest. My hair has always been very curly so anything other than a crew cut was a mess.
Long hair and working in the brush requires a hat unless you want some nasty twigs that need to be pulled out. Some people will assume they know your politics by just looking at a ponytail. Fun as hell to prove them wrong.
Give it a try. You can always cut it off .
This is the shortest it has been in a long, long time. When wet it is now just at my shoulders.

Per the Cowsills:
I let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home for the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas
A hive for the buzzin' bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my...
Hair, hair, hair, hair

Yup, pretty much proves my point about assumptions.

Male pattern baldness began before I was out of high school.
By 35 I was sporting the Friar Tuck look.
Just for something different, grew a pony tail that reached my belt. (and yes, people wrongly assume they know your politics)
Kept that for a few years, got tired of caring for it, been shaved ever since.
My uncles on my mom's side all had MPB. my Dad's side just the opposite.
My Dad died with a head of hair like Elvis, even after chemo.
Thanks mom. :ROFLMAO:

No, I just don't want to deal with having to worry about haircuts!

How wrong we can be in our assumptions sometimes!

Hey! What's wrong with the 60s?

I was in the military too. But only four years including one in southeast asia.

Armylifer seems like a good screen name...good for you.

That's the way I see it too. I am not into appearances. Just like to do what works for me...Not dealing with hair cutting seems like it would work. In a few years it might be long enough to pull around and cut off myself.

Of course, I would still wash my hair everyday, like I have for at least the last 40 years. LOL My butt too...LOLOL

Somehow I am viewing motionclone's post again. Not intentionally, but it happened. LOL honestly.

Anyway, I think possibly some comments in this thread might be generated by younger people. I mean, when one reaches his late 70s (76 not that late) who cares about what people think? Actually I never did before I was 50! (or probably ever really)

Almost a subject for a different thread...LOL

Fried1765 might be the exception...
