Eggs are still $5 at the local farm.
My eggs are still about $20 for a bag of layer feed every so often. ;) Well, wife also gives them treats and I give them clover/alfalfa from the yard/field.

I don't get the global inflation argument. Most of us don't live globally. If their prices are higher/lower, it doesn't help/hurt us.

I think we are at 18.99 for a 50lb bag of Kalmbach. That doesn’t include the supplements. But they mainly eat grass/bugs/worms so I don’t have a good estimate on what our eggs cost. We sell the extras for $5/doz. I am not sure we are actually breaking even if considering all expenses. If I could get them a SS# and claim as dependents that would help.😆

Do you make or grow everything you consume? If not, it affects you.
That's not the way inflation numbers work. Our inflation has our costs baked in.

There isn't any reason to count the same thing twice unless you are trying to make excuses to people who don't understand math.

Also remember that PA has a 57.6 cent per gallon gas tax. Our roads and bridges don't look like they spend all that on infrastructure.
Now that isn't quite fair. In PennDOT's defense they have rebuilt every single bridge that has spontaneously fallen down whether there were motorists on it at the time or not.

That's value!

Everywhere you go there are projects, detours cones, etc. HOWEVER, nothing ever gets FINISHED.

One exception is a bridge over a small creek North of town. It had been a narrow single lane forever. After months of detours we finally got to use the new bridge. The new bridge is a narrow single lane bridge.
