It's an eerie feeling. Pray we're not setting ourselves up for similar attacks.
From my side, hope they are going north from the US...worse really, considering the OPEN southern boarder policy, 1% of 1% of 10 million is a LOT of new terrorists to have let in.....
I have seen this too, lots of chicken processing going on up here. GF used to work at one the plants, her friends still work there but a lot of them have moved up to management and/or white collar jobs within the company. No matter, they all turn a blind eye at this issue you've described.I would like secure borders and immigration policies that make sense, but lacking that what does the average citizen do to make the problem worse? Well many buy illegal drugs thus supporting drug cartels and making life hell in some of those South American countries so their citizens want to leave. And we are happy to buy goods and services produced cheaply by illegal immigrants.
I am currently on my high horse about the major chicken processors that are using unaccompanied minor CHILDREN to clean the equipment at night. They are using toxic chemicals giving chemical burns, and getting hurt when one kid turns on a machine when another kid has an arm in it. How many 13 year olds are mature enough to safely do this kind of thing? They are sleep deprived because they have to be in school and are essentially indentured servants to pay for the falsified papers to get the job and to pay for the coyote that shoved them across the border. Many people know and are complicit eg the USDA inspector that looked the other way because he knew they needed the money, rather than report to Labor board. All I can do is not buy their chicken, lost my appetite thinking about the kid with a crushed arm.
