Thermal Syphon heater

So after my last post about heating my B7200 in which an inline coolant heater was suggested, I've come to the conclusion that my lower radiator hose is no where long enough to install one. So on to the next option. How many people have used the thermalsyphon heaters and with how much success?

Why not use a block heater?
Is it the issue of finding the right adapter for the block?

I don't have a B7200 for comparison, but while it is very tight on my B7100, it is just possible:
