Ray, thanks for posting that link. His presentation can keep one listening for a long time. I read some of the comments, and there were none of the comments typically seen on YouTube, not one! Only compliments.

I did see one comment, "Clutter is a sign of production".

It just reminds me, my shop is too small. A full lean too would help, but a whole other shop would probably be the answer! Isn’t two better than one?

Don't you need a summer project? Sounded like you polished off a bunch this year :D

I’ve got just about everything done on my list to get built, cleared, etc. just one more load of 2x6’s and Tin, and a day to build it. Way ahead of the game this year. Even finished all the wood cutting and stacking, and the back porch and wood shed are both stuffed to the rafters. 2330399D-FE36-4EFD-9334-337341304EF5.jpg

Shops are a lot like a woman's purse.... never big enough.... But one thing I have done in mine is tried to put casters under as many things as possible, Great for the Power-washing day,,just roll everything to one side then back and or re-arrange as efficiently as needed

lr,

I too have made the same discovery. Wheels make the use of an item far easier because you can get it to where you will use it and then wheel it to a storage position for later use. Moving for cleaning is a bonus.

My big cleaning "revelation" has been the use of electric blowers. I have big doors on either end of my shop and with a breeze blowing through, five minutes with a weed eater gets it pretty dang clean!

With house renovation projects taking precedence, I have worked on my shop for five years in my spare time. This winter is the final phase. I am already late getting started. I gotta get going... Don't want to get it all done and die before I have time to use it. :)

One of my shop blowers was a WEED EATER. It now lives in Ohio with a friend as I like TORO 'cause its not so loud. I can still hear the WEED EATER running all the way from Ohio! LOL...

Another good thing about a tile shop floor. It cuts down on the weeds. :)

Is it wrong that when we got a new vacuum for the house, I kept the old one for the shop? In my defense, when we got new carpet in the house I took a big piece out of the living room and put it under the pool table so there is technical some carpet out there. I just tend to use it one the concrete also. Welding slag is a little rough on it though.

Nah,
I vacuum my garage regularly

Another handy thing to have is a magnet broom

You will be surprised what you pick up.

If mine ain't cluttered up with equipment, I'm not making any money. Love to have bigger facility but with that comes bigger bills unfortunately.
