The Neighbor.......

I like to think I'm a decent neighbor. I've cleared snow from their drive, helped the previous neighbor with numerous things without them asking. But the one there now, I find to be quite lazy and I can't stand it. Constant trash being blown in my yard that they never pick up. Luckily for me I only have one neighbor.

What do you do when they keep mowing over the property line? I'll mow on top of him right on the line just as a reminder.

I was trying to find something positive too say.... Well the guy seems like a good dad to his little girl,so there's that. He'll have her on the mower with him at times and it reminds me of my daughter getting on the tractor with me. I have a really good pic of us on my JD after I got it going, it was my grand fathers. I think she is still in her pjs in the picture. I'll post it here at some point.

Ben, when they mow over the property line....Thank Them !!! Its just that less you'll have to mow!! Unless theres something on the line you don't want mowed then say something. As far as the trash goes you can either pick it up and let it go or you can ask them to secure the trash that its blowing on to your property.

I mow over the line all the time, the guy next door never did. I do it because its easier for me to get turned around along the edge of the field, and I blow everything back on my place. But it cleans thing up a it more and it looks nicer. Surprised me last time he mowed he came over about 15 feet on my side and blew every thing back on his side,, Sometimes things just click after a while for some people

I am fortunate to have moved into a neighborhood that is full of people that are like minded and helpful to each other. This neighborhood is just about 13 years old but turnover is kind of slow. Most of the neighbors are military veterans or government workers at one level or another. What that means to me is that all are willing to serve one another. It really does work out that way.

We have one neighbor about a mile down the road that plows the snow every winter. We have a couple others that take care of road maintenance. Some other cut the road right of way to keep weeds and grasses at bay.

I love this neighborhood and I thank God every night for finding this paradise to live in. I pray that we never get any liberals to move in and spoil the camaraderie and kinship that exists now in this neighborhood.

We are also blessed with good neighbors.
Next door just went on vac, we take care of the Lab. I would take the old boy home anytime. Big ol lazy Labs are never bad to have around!
We all keep an eye on others house and property and help each othrer when we can.
When it snows, neighbors with larger tractors bust the lane open, smaller tractors and atv's open driveways. Yards are free game to shove snow, grass grows back.
Everyone pitches in except one house, they just complain and enjoy the fruits of everyone else's labor.

My one neighbor probably doesn't want me mowing his lawn any more because it's very lush and soft from using a walk-behind mulching mower for years. The Kubota sinks in.

A couple weeks after plowing out another neighbor last winter, he appeared with an alumiminum wedge from my plow attachment that I didn't know I'd lost. That was very welcome.

Our snowplow service is usually done with the streets by about 5:00 AM. Then I can plow my drive and the plowed-in ends of a few neighboring driveways.
