Wolfman, what you using the spring tooth harrow for, an anchor?

Your lane looks like it's a tad on the wet side. You need wind and sunshine!

What did you drive in there for Wolfman?

That was two springs ago, during breakup, (they get that ugly up here). That was my old driveway, I was using the spring tooth cultivator to break through the frost layer to get it to drain, it was wicked deep that year, 3 feet down, and I was still finding frost up till the first of May.
It worked, 4 days later I could actually drive on it.

Now the new driveway is a lot higher and a lot drier, and now it drains off to the old driveway. :D

TF,

Whats the back story on this place?

Was it yours or an in-laws place?

Did you buy it because it was cheap after the fire damage?

Did you lose your house there?

Where is the acreage located in Texas?

Is it your retirement hunting residence or will it be your home after completion?

Great effort indeed. Keep the pictures coming.

the photo of my L3200HST being stuck is just one of the several times, i've had it stuck up to the frame. only needed help getting pulled out once.
this time i used the backhoe, front forks and lots of limbs under the backhoe, forks and tires. in a spot near there while roto-tilling a garden, i had to use three come-a-longs doubled and a large stump.
i bought after the wildfire near bastrop, tx. it was in my budget...
in the photos of me digging for drainage tiles. i installed drainage on both sides of the new driveway. layered the gravel, sand and clay. packing it between layers. the roadbed is about a foot deep, in 6 layers. in a year since i finished it, nary a chuck hole has formed.. even after two floods causing rivers to flow down the driveway.

pulled to far forward while turning the trailer. caught the bumper trim on a short stump.
my 1 ton, was lowered a inch, had rear air ride and oversized sway bars front and rear.

made the yard / parking area larger..

starting to see some results

Mud is normally fine if you can keep the axles above it. If the mud hits the axles, you're usually done. Mud doesn't plow very well unless you have mad traction!

I don't like running in it due to the ruts is leaves and you have to repair them! UGH!

Nice work Tempforce, I'm in a similar situation to you, kind of starting from scratch, but a whole lot slower progress on my part. Gonna put the Granny House on the lot come spring and septic in February of next year.

getting ready to clean up the larger pieces of wood and rocks. prior to roto-tilling

getting a carport, notice the stack of lumber behind the car port. thats about half of the lumber cut from the salvaged trees.
all of the ground from the camera to the house has been filled, packed and leveled. using the kubota

got a car port, plus leveling the ground for the new workshop

floor vent for the shop

starting the pour

notice the vent pipe sticking up through the concrete

Amazing amount of work, you're obviously not afraid to take on a major project. My hat's off to you. But a question- Floor vent in the garage? Never seen that before….
