The D722 engine

neighbor had his D722 to overheat in his Grasshopper mower, wants to know if an auxillary power unit D722 would match up good enough to run his mower..

Sounds a bit drastic to change engine because it overheated. Not saying it doesn't need to be. Is there more to this story?

Sorry I can't comment on the D722 replacement.

His mechanical ability is only on the outside of the engine = he got sticker shock when he asked about rebuilding his...He thinking the APU will be ready to bolt on and go..

Somehow lost coolant and engine seized..

It would be nice to know if the D722 had more than one block and crank pattern just to know for our own may be use in the future..

Generator units commonly have a lower RPM rating and won't work without swapping out internal parts from the other engine.

That's why they are cheap to get.

So no, not a direct swap over.
