The BX makes things easier

So it is starting to warm up some here and than means starting some outside projects. Using the BX for more stuff than just plowing some snow.
This weekend we removed a limb that was hanging over the roof. Instead of having to do it in pieces I was able to route my straps and anchor them to the BX to swing the limb over/off the roof when I cut it. Then just drag it to the bonfire pile.

I purchased my BX2200 last spring and it has made property maintenance a ton easier. In the past I would have had to do the limb in pieces and would have had to cut it up to haul it back to the burn pile.

Amazing how much help a tractor can be, isn't it? Mine are the hardest workers at my place.

I love having a tractor. I am about 2/3rds done my yard the way we want it. id only be about 1/10th without the bx. in one summer i graded and dropped 22tons of top soil on about a third of my yard. plus did 8 tons of gravel into a firepit moving rocks etc, this year i will be doing the remaining third of the yard with fill/top soil. then after that its just whatever i feel like doing with it! i do need to build a tractor shed as id like to have my garage back lol

Ha ha....that is my son in the pants. He is 12 and seems to enjoy running/driving the tractor.

I hear ya about the tractor shed. It is on my list as well. I am almost tempted to get one of those $300 portable garages to put it in until I get my pole barn built.

I will be putting in a new gravel drive with mine as well as a garden and deer food plot. I need to work new tractor attachments into the monthly budget somehow......

lol, ya the attachments "wants/needs" list... I don't think I will ever get everything I want for it... sure is awesome having a hydraulic shovel to save my back!

Too much snow where I'm at for one of those pop up garages. People do use them but you have to keep the snow off of them.

Since I bought my BX2230 a couple of years ago, I am amazed how much I use it. Dirt work around the property, tree and limb removal, just like you did, snow removal in the winter and I have used it to pull my utility trailer loaded with mulch around to place it around some of my many trees and landscaping. The longer I have it, the more uses I find for it.
Just take care of it, and it will be a useful tool for many years.

That’s the first thing I got to do with mine last Fall was to haul a tree limb about that size with my pallet forks. If not I would have been cutting it up there and making a few trips.

I agree. Purchasing the tractor is one of the best things I have done. It makes large projects enjoyable. Last year we did a lot of brush and small tree removal. The difference in the pre-tractor routine of cutting things up so I could haul them in my small trailer hooked to my rider and the post tractor routine of cutting stuff down/dragging or pushing them to the burn pile and then using the FEL to pile them up is amazing. Saves a bunch of time and my back. Here are a couple pics. Property had been neglected. You couldn't even tell there was a pond out back before, but the lack of upkeep is why I got the deal I did.

thats awesome!! great job! we have a pond as well that we had dug a few years back (paid a neighbor with a 30' reach excavator) stocked it with mudpout and minnows. I never have to buy minnows for fishing ever again!!

how deep is the pond and do you have any fish in it?

Pond is just under half an acre and about 8-9ft deep. We fish it. It was way out of balance when I moved in. Had tons of Bluegill, but nothing else. So over populated they were all stunted etc. Last summer I added some Bass and Catfish (small from a hackery). This year I am planning on some grass carp to help keep the vegetation at a reasonable level. When I moved in, it was probably a third covered with algae and tons of aquatic weeds. I don't like using a bunch of chemicals in a pond we eat fish out of, so hopefully the grass carp will help with that.
