TG1860 Hydrostatic Noisey.

Hi guys, I have a TG1860G, the hydrostatic seems to be whining and seems not to be as fast as it was when I got it. I think it needs fluid. manual says it takes 3.5L or 20w50, Its a sealed unit,the tg1860 diesel has a dip stick, mine does not. how to I check or add the fluid? add it from the vent tube?

You can buy a hst filter from Messick parts and drop the 11 bolt pan, but make sure you put the gerator back the way you found it, it has a dot on both pieces and they need to be lined up and pointing toward the discharge case, which is what they sit in, do not put gasket seal on the discharge case it has a o-ring that you can reuse. Oh yea the discharge case has 2 allen bolts that hold it to the pan, but if you only change the filter and oil and don't move the fan you can take the 11 bolt pan down without removing the discharge case bolts. I put 4.5 quarts into my unit the book calls for 3.75. I just decided to fill it all the way up. Work out great!!!!!
