What would cause the Tach to start overrunning after around 100 hours of operation? I have replaced the tach 3 times since I bought this tractor. 2 Kubota dealer purchased and one online purchase, after around 100+ hours the tach will be showing 2-3000 rpm when at idle and if increased to pto speed the needle is off the scale. Is Kubota just selling junk parts or is there a problem that I need to be looking for?

Could be the cable or drive is binding causing the tack to whip the needle and messing the Zero point up.
You should be able to take the tach face off and reset the zero point.
