So Ijust bought a OEM ctach/hour cable for my Kubota. Looking for recomendations, before I need to install -- Do I need to lube? Should I lube? and if so what should I use to lube the cable?

Thanks for any suggestions.

if you can get to the inner cable a coat of graphite would be good. If you can't take it apart it may be pre lubricated.

That's one reason I asked this questioned I didn't know if they were prelubed or even needed to be lubed.
Thanks!

Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) is used by most speedo-cable mfr’s.

Mine was replaced under warranty.

I did not do anything to it. Maybe I should have, but they are not that expensive so lets see how long this one works.

I did however, "clip" the zip-tie that they put on it to increase the bend radius.

That zip-tie, IMHO, makes too much of a sharp bend in the cable.

Not sure how yours is routed though.

I would be willing to bet "dollars to doughnuts" that a factory tech, just slaps it on, as is....just a feeling though......
