The wheel turns freely and clicks, but the wheels don’t turn. It was fine then all of a sudden. Nothing. I can’t climb under it with my back, so asking for some ideas here. I don’t know if there’s a belt for the steering? Or what…. Thoughts?
I believe your machine has electric power steering . i.e. no hydraulic pump.
As with all things electrical, start with checking for blown fuses and chewed wiring..
The system has a controller of sorts and I believe a warning light the controller turns on when it senses problems.
If the wheel is turning but the front wheels are not steering you have something mechanical that is broken. As even if the PS itself fails you can still drive and steer the unit
My TG1860 steering was erratic (off/on/off) many years ago. I vaguely recall it being a loose electrical wire/connection....as the steering is (as has been said) electric assist.
"Clicks" sounds more like some part is physically disconnected or broken.
