Hi Guys
I’ve always had a little makeshift stand made out of old 4X4s to sit my ballast box on when I park my BX2380. The ballast is probably about 400lbs or so. I always just figured taking the weight off the hydraulics, etc was a good idea when not in use. Is this something that’s necessary in anyone’s opinion?

I don't know if it's necessary. When I lower my three point the ballast box contacts the ground. I did have a 6 X 6 under it to keep it off the ground. When I remove it from the tractor I put it on a pair of 6 X 6 chunks to keep it off the ground and to facilitate easy installation.

Mine touches the ground if I let it. That being said I undock it / set it on a dolly…it allows me to move with ease on the concrete floor when not attached. I think it would work as a rest even when attached…but you could use wood blocks or something just as easy.

This thread brings up the topic, I myself was questioning. I have the mount and 10 weights (550Lbs) off the front of a Belarus Tractor, I planned to make 3PH compatable.

I think a HD Cart would be must.

Long term, I think rust is about the only negative if in the elements.
