Hi all!
This is my first post in this community so I’ll try to do my best to describe everything well!

We were working in a wet area with the RTV 900 and tried to ford a shallow area of the swamp and, well, it wasn’t so shallow. RTV got stuck and we ended up having to tow it out backwards. We kept it running so it wouldn’t get water in through the exhaust and it does have a snorkel so no water got in the intake. However, once we started pulling it backwards, the motor shut off and the oil indicator light popped on. Once we got back to dry land the motor would crank but wouldn’t start. I pulled the exhaust manifold off and no water got in there. Same story with the air intake. While the fuse box was full of water I didn’t see any blown fuses and all the relays seem to be in working order as well.
We let the RTV dry out for a few days and it’s the same story. Motor cranks but won’t start. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to start troubleshooting? My next thought was to flush the diesel out of it and fill it with fresh fuel as perhaps water entered the tank through the vent? Any help would be appreciated!

Yup my next step would be flush out fuel system and tank then fresh new fuel. Drain Oil won’t be hard to tell if it got water in it and change including filter. Hopefully it’s one of those and you’ll be good to go. Depending on how your exhaust exits pulling it in reverse without anything stopping water from entering could lead to not great things.

Look at the water seperator, that will give you the answer immediately if it's water in the fuel.
Really need the serial number to help you out further as they made 40 some odd variants to that model.

If you have insurance on the RTV I would notify the agent so if it turns out to be an expensive repair you will be covered.

Hey y’all I wanted to give you an update on the RTV! So it did end up being water in the fuel tank. We drained it, let it dry out for a few days, put fresh fuel in it and started it right up!
@DustyRusty I’m not sure if we have insurance on them or not, I’m kinda a pee on where I work so I don’t handle that type of stuff.
