Sunfrost DC RF-16 Refrigerator

Anybody have a Sunfrost RF-16 refrig/freezer or similar with a stab latch system? I want to replace the latching system and am looking for alternative options. I am posting a pic of the current components, a stab latch that fails from wear over time. Any suggestions on some type of replacement system, maybe magnetic like on cabinets if they make one strong enough??

If I recall a lot refrigerators/freezers use magnetic strips inside their door seals that will hold it closed with assistance of the low pressure area behind the door created by the cold air. So maybe replace the door seal with a door seal that has one of the magnetic strips in it. The magnets don't need to be super strong since it will be about 5 feet of contact with the only goal of not letting it swing open on its own accord.

The frig is aluminum so mag seal would not work. The way it is built is going to be problematic aligning another latch kit but I am sure there is one out there.
