Summit valve fitting size question for rear remotes

After reading hundreds of threads about adding rear remotes, and successfully installing a 3rd function spool valve for a hydraulic ssqa I am now adding an a 2 spool valve for top and tilt.
The 3rd function for the ssqa was all done with 3/8 hose a fittings. It operates a little too fast if I’m not careful.

The work ports on the valve are #10 ORB.

Can I do #10 ORB x 1/4” JIC to the hoses and quick disconnects reason being to keep the top and tilt cylinders from operating too fast?
Also eliminating the need for a flow restrictor.

Tractor is a L3902 with back hoe.

You will not slow the T&T cylinders down using 1/4" hoses.
Why do you not want flow restrictors?
You should be using 2" dia cylinders for your T&T units, .030 restrictors on each port are perfect for your tractor.

Trying to control speed with hose size by downsizing is fruitless.
Get reducers / restrictors for the lines.
This style of restrictor is cheap and easy.

like others have said. Restrictors are cheap, easy, common, and easily reversible / changeable if you should want to change over time and with experience.

Use 3/8" hose with JIC-08 fittings on everything. Put a bidirectional orifice restrictor on any cylinder you want to slow down. I assume you are installing electric valves for rear remotes?

I am installing a regular manual 2 spool valve 1 float from summit. Any reason to use 3/8 with JIC-8 vs 3/8 with JIC-6? I used 1 spool summit valve with 3/8 hose and JIC-6 on the set for the hydraulic ssqa, and it seems to work good other than it operates a little fast if I'm not careful.

Either will work but Kubota uses 3/8" hose and JIC-08 swivels on OEM hoses and that will match what you are hooking into.

JIC-08 is also a better match to the ID of the hose. Remember - JIC sizes are based on the OD of steel tube. JIC-06 is designed for 3/8 tube with an ID around 1/4". JIC-08 is designed for 1/2" tube with an ID around 3/8".

Put a couple restrictors on your TnT cylinders and you will be good to go. DO NOT but them on the valve or hose as you want to keep the rear outlets at max flow.

You are also goung to find that Summit valve leaks down very quickly. If you expect the TnT cylinders to hold position yoh will need a lock vave (DPOCV) on both the top and side link cylinders. That makes a float spool a waste of money.

I have a L3901 wIth Summit P40 control valve on my top link and it works fune with a DPOCV and no restrictors. Because of the keak down rate it was unusable without the DPOCV..

By the way - for a Summit P40 valve:

Work ports: SAE-08.
P and T: SAE-10
N: SAE-08.

Are you using a P40 valve or something else?
