Suggestions How to Deal With Rocks

Hello and thanks in advance

I am busy discing about 10 acres to plant hay. Man, there are a lot of stones. I can deal with the big ones easy enough but I have hundreds from the size of baseballs to basketballs.

Any recommendations on how to pick these things up?

sounds like a rock rake and lots of time on your tractor to me.

Maybe check into purchasing a rock bucket for your front end loader.

I have been thinking of getting a rock bucket for some time, so I might just pull the trigger. Picking up large stones with the stock bucket is a PITA.

As for the rake suggestions, I thought those were just for picking up debris like sticks and stuff. Maybe it just means I have to prepare the field better?

I can think of a lot worse ways to spend evenings after work than on my tractor - except discing a plowed field, which is like riding a bucking bronco!

A friend of mine just bought one back in the first of the summer and his would angle to either side. He pulled it down his drive way and it would make a nice little windrow of gravel.

Good idea, but I don't have a neighbour hood and kids today feel they have a right to an iPhone, so I doubt that'll fly.

kids today don't know what work is. They think everything is suppose to be given to them for doing nothing. What do they know about earning there own way.
