Substitute for UDT fluid?

Is there an acceptable and less expensive substitute for UDT transmission fluid? Would 80/90 oil work?

It will depend on what piece of equipment you are intending to put it in!

At one time I was on the same search as you. But I soon realized that it wasn't worth using fluid that "might" work in my $20-30k tractor. I just buy the good stuff.

Mystik JT-5 is UDT and much cheaper than other brands!
