No surprises for you there then, although I don’t think the 3901 uses def. I have only one experience with a 3901, and I had to leave it pegged for a regen while I drank coffee. No hair off my chin, but it did sound like it was rippin. That is definitely a strong engine in the 3901. The 2501 engine is a lower rpm engine, and is fine if you “lug” it. Also, I really did not need the HP for a TLB tractor.

No DEF on the L3901. I have about 65hrs on mine and it’s done 2 regens. Nothing to write home about, I just kept on working.

I went from a JD 3005 to a l3901hst. I love it. I initially went in for a B2650 then looked at an L2501. My wife actually talked me into more hp. The L frame is nice and stable (with filled tires). Lots of power to pull a trailer full of wood and/or pull logs. It was a toss up at first but I went 3901 instead of the 2650 but think the 2650 was a good choice too. What do YOU feel comfortable sitting in/on. Regens are no big deal.

Had my mind made up for an L3901 then found out you can’t get a 3rd function valve on it if you have a backhoe on it - so now
Back to square one — ugh !!
