Hello everyone. First off, I just found this forum as I was searching for info about my Kubota. Seems like there are a lot of knowledgable folks on here.

I do have a question for anyone in the know. I have a B2400 that I inhereted when I became a church camp caretaker. I have done the basic maintenance on it as it has 800 hours and doesn't seem like it has ever been taken care of.

I have a strange power loss issue. It seems that when I am in gear, I am not getting full response. The engine seems to be running fine with full power. However, my speed is barely more than a crawl. The higher gear isn't much better. The air filter is fine. Plenty of UDT in the tranny. I suspected that maybe the brakes were partially engaged but I put it in neutral without engine running and rolled it down my driveway, it didn't seem like any issue like that.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Does anyone have any recommendations as to how I should try to diagnose? I would greatly appreciate any advice or help that I can get. We have campers here continually and I can't be without my tractor for an extended amount of time!

The only selection that I am seeing is the "turtle and rabbit." I haven't seen any options for low range on the machine or that manual. It wouldn't surprise me if I'm missing something simple like that. I'm completely new to tractors (had never even been on one before taking this position.)

Yup, that's how they marked "high" & "low" on mine also.

The high range is slower than usual but doesn't seem to be affected nearly as much as the low. The low is slower than a casual walk.

What kind of transmission? Gear, or HST?
Hydraulic fluid level OK? Hydraulic filter or screen clean?
Is the clutch slipping? Does the engine rev up without a corresponding ground speed increase?

It is an HST. Clutch doesn't seem to be slipping at all. As far as hydro fluid, I am assuming we're talking about the UDT in the trans. If so, the levels are fine with no issues. Haven't had time to change any filters or screens but will likely do a trans service (drain, filter, fill) and replace the fuel filter in the immediate future. Even if it doesn't fix the problem, it is certainly maintenance that I need to do.

I think your on the right track in continuing your maintenance. Change filters, clean screens, etc. and get back to us on the results.
