Had a nice storm blow through last week, about 2 feet of snow and constant 40 mph wind with heavy gusts. Needless to say we had drifts on drifts so the tractor got a workout. I got my driveway cleared but the county did not plow and people were getting stuck on the main road so we sat tight for a couple of days.
I usually use Power Service White but our store had Howes on sale so I thought I would try it so now I have both. Have never used Howes but it has pretty good reviews.

Whoa! I like the snow but too early for me.
Almost 20 years ago my #2 son and I took a great mc ride out west. Our turn around point was supposed to be Going to the Sun Road in GNP. Not so fast. We got there in early June and the road was still closed due to heavy drifting. . .
We ended up going around Flathead Lake then pointed east.

Yep, a bit too early, had my bucket on and it hit so fast I didn't bother to put the snow blade on. Bucket did a decent job on the drifts along with the back blade but I like the snow blade. Here is the link to Power Service:

I googled it for us.

Ok, Stmar beat me to it.
I was under the impression that those additives are seasonal and put in by the refinery so those of us who go to the pump for diesel are covered - right?

They do switch to winter blend but the additives have more benefits than just the anti-gel feature. I actually use #1 in the winter, our Co-op has it, but I still treat it. It is cheaper than gas station diesel because it is "off road" so no road tax, plus it is fresher because of the usage.

I love Howes Stmar. Unstuck two injectors in my Powerstroke that was running Power Service. That sold me on it.

I'm waiting for the snow here too. None yet but been below freezing.

Thanks for the feedback, I figured it was a good chance to try something new and rotating additives may give the benefits of both since I have heard good things about Howes.
