Hi, can anyone tell me why Kubota say not to use the decompression lever to stop the engine, where a lot of other tractors only have the decompression lever to stop them, Massey Ferguson 135 a case in point? The signage on the Kubota says it should only be used when the battery is low on charge. The recommended way to stop the engine is to use the throttle lever, which has a sign saying fast, slow, stop.

Well there you go, me showing my lack of knowledge. I had assumed that when I pulled the lever on the MF it was a decompression release just like the B6000 but it sounds as if you are going to correct me. So to get back to my original question, before we get off topic, why not use the decompression lever to stop the ZL600 engine on the Kubota B6000? Bernie

I think it is bad since the injectors are still spewing fuel into the cylinders that is not getting burned and may wash the lubricants off the cyLinder surface.

I just know it is better to follow the manufacture’s direction since they should know what is better for the engine.

What Russell said, and it can also burn the valves and or seats.
It can also damage the valve train, because that system is not designed to be used on a running engine.
