New to this forum and a brand new owner of L2501 with LA526 FEL. I apologize if this is a repeated topic, but I couldn't find anything about this on here. Should the raise lower control of the FEL valve have a detent to return to neutral position when you release? The side to side action of the FEL joystick to dump or curl detents and returns to neutral when you release your hand pressure on it. I'd expect the raise and lower to do the same. It will stick and slowly creep up on you if you do not manually move it back to the neutral position. To the extent that I had my head turned backing out of my barn and the loader crept up to the full raised position and caught the truss in my barn! This does not seem right to me. Feels like it should detent back to neutral in all 4 directions.

my thoughts too. Must be something wrong with the valve. I will be contacting my dealer on Monday. Thanks Will.

First "detent" typically means it stays put when you release the lever.

"Spring return" to center is when the lever automatically returns to neutral when you let go.

Your loader valve has 4 positions on the boom spool.

The center (neutral) position maintains the current height.

Levet down raises the bucket and is spring return to neutral.

Lever forward or up is lower and is spring return to center.

There is a fourth position on lower that you get to by pushing the handle forward past a detent. That position lowers the bucket to the ground and lets the bucket float without down pressure. That position locks in place until you manually pull it back.

Sounds like you probably need to lubricate the joystick linkages.

Thanks Dan
I stand corrected. I mis-spoke calling it a detent. I will look into lubricating the linkages. Appreciate your description and information .
