Steering Wheel Removal

Hi,
I recently acquired a Kubota L225DT. I am trying to clean out the fuel tank but I am having the hardest time removing the steering wheel. I have removed the pressure washer, washer and nut but the steering wheel will not come of. Can anyone please help?

There is not a threaded hole inside the center cover on my steering wheel so a standard "steering wheel puller" would not work.

A three jaw puller will not offset the spokes just right to work either. Plus it with would not get underneath the steel/aluminum part of the center collar to pull agianst it

The way I got mine off was to put a small "bearing splitter" tool, from a press, underneath the center section and then I used a two jaw puller to grab on each side of the splitter and put the pressure on the puller screw. Once it was very tight I gave a firm tap to the puller screw with a hammer and it jumped loose.

Caution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't beat on the puller to hard or to much to avoid shocking the steering shaft and damaging the gear or spool.

That tapered shaft gets a strong hold to the steering wheel, once it has been tightened down with the nut.
