Steering Wheel Position

One other thing I noticed on my recent BX2230 purchase is the change in the steering wheel position, I added a steering wheel spinner knob and installed it in the position I like but every time I drive it seams to end up in a different location.
Am I crazy? What's up with this? Thanks, Dave

Your car has power assisted steering, and there is still a direct mechanical link between the steering wheel and the wheels. You can still steer if the power steering goes out but with difficulty. On your tractor the steering is completely hydraulic with no direct mechanical link, so the wheel can be in a different position every time you start and may even change while you are driving if you turn the steering wheel all the way to the stops. There is no steering if the hydraulic system stops or fails.

Not really. I,m bilingual, so I don,t have a problem switching hands. LOL

Sometimes I use the left, sometimes the right, but I will not give up my spinner. It works great.

Operator station is too small on my tractor for a spinner, let alone 5.

When I bought my L305 it had two spinners on it! How do you really use a tractor with two? Wouldn't your wrist be smacking one just about every sharp turn?

Those spinners are a source of broken bones. I've seen/heard of many who've gotten hit by them, one broken humorous, couple guys with broken fingers, latest was a lady whose husband came down with alzheimers and is having to do all the tractor work on their farm, she said the spinner that her husband put on hit her in the wrist and either broke or severely bruised it. Was supposed to go to the doctor Friday. Ain't heard anything since. I won't put them on even if someone requests.

I have never really felt the need for one. The steering on my L48 is so easy, I just stick a finger against a spoke and spin. Nothing mounted to the wheel to come around and catch me off guard. Even plowing in the winter it still turns incredibly easy.

Just my 2 cents, which is worthless now. We have no pennies anymore! Lol

Love the spinner so I'll deal with it...now everyday's a new adventure, where it lands nobody knows...

There is no steering if the hydraulic system stops or fails.

My tractor steers when it is not running,(hydraulic system stopped), but I'm sure a blown seal would prevent it from turning.
